It appears that Michell Malkin doesn’t undersatnd that protesters during the last two inaugurations weren’t protesting against the idea of inaugurations, they were protesting against the guy being inaugurated. Does Malking really think they were protesting against the ceremony? Also, do you really want to be that guy protesting at the first black president’s inauguration?
Malkin’s posts are written in a fire and brimstone anger that is barely contained by the text.
President Obama’s Chicago machine is kicking into high gear to plan and fund his massive, unprecedented inaugural festivities. He just appointed an inauguration planning committee that includes his hometown cronies William Daley and Penny Pritzker. They’ve got a campaign-style website counting down the days to the massive party in Washington. To deflect attention from the costs, the One’s party planners are patting themselves on the back for limiting inaugural donations to individual contributions of $50,000 — a move they say is historic. But Bill Clinton also refused corporate money for his second inaugural and capped donations at $100. (Bush raised $42 million for his second inaugural, mostly from corporate donors, capped at $250,000.)
I mean come on. “hometown cronies” ? They planning a PARTY. It’s not like these guys are running FEMA or anything. Cause that would be ridiculous, right? How can Malkin even consider this information critical of Obama? He’s only accepting donations from individuals. He’s the first person to ever cap donations. All of this, after Bush had a $40,000,000 inaugeral ball. *sound of hand slapping forehead*

This is my little corner of the Internet, welcome to it. It is my sounding horn for my views on democracy, the environment, security, computers, and code which is beautiful. I like to ask questions and study the wisdom of the crowd, the democratization of information, and why things are different this time around. I am a dog person, and I have been a Mac user since before it was cool.

Hey,
Crappy blog you’ve got here! I mean, you’ve really got that nose buried in Obama’s behind! Nothing more repulsive than a Demonicrat eagerly licking Obama’s boots. And they say there’s no cult of personality.
Here’s a hint, sherlock. Bush’s inaugural cost 45 mill. Obama’s is gonna cost 145.
And yet, 4 years ago, we had tools like you bleating and bitching about the cost of the inaugural. Hypocrite much?
Enjoy the clown you got elected – before he utterly destroys this country.

@BS Mcgee. You’re aren’t factoring in security costs in Bush’s inaugeration, which acutally cost $ 157 million at the end of the day. from media matters: , buried in a recent New York Times article published one week before the controversy erupted over the cost of Obama’s inauguration, the newspaper reported that in 2005, “the federal government and the District of Columbia spent a combined $115.5 million, most of it for security, the swearing-in ceremony, cleanup and for a holiday for federal workers” [emphasis added].
You read that correctly. The federal government spent $115 million dollars for the 2005 inauguration. Keep in mind, that $115 million price tag was separate from the money Bush backers bundled to put on the inauguration festivities. For that, they raised $42 million. So the bottom line for Bush’s 2005 inauguration, including the cost of security? That’s right, $157 million.”
